Good Eats — 09 July 2012

Summertime in Portland finds us soaking in every possible bit of sunshine possible. To this end, we spend most lunch hours down by the waterfront snacking on something from a food cart we could get our hands on quickly.

So we were pretty thrilled when The Picnic House opened in the lobby of the old Heathman. Serving up just the kinds of high-end fare you’d find in a picnic basket prepared by Martha Stewart, we’re pretty sure we’ll be popping in for to-go orders on the way to the river and the beach as well. We haven’t tried dinner yet, but with a solid-looking (albeit limited) evening list and its close proximity to the Schnitz, we’re likely going to make it there pre-show some night when we don’t have time for the protracted 2 hour dining experience we’re used to.
